Silver Lining, Columbus, Ohio

The facade of a new parking structure at the convention center in Columbus, Ohio was clad with three curtains of silver-colored, polycarbonate chainmail that ripple in the wind like water. Designed in collaboration with Schooley Caldwell, the installation is intended to blur the boundary between architecture and atmosphere. The sensitive surfaces of the chainmail curtains becomes a dynamic register for the ever-changing patterns of the wind. Undulating shadows animate the interior spaces of the parking structure with an aqueous light. Completed in 2020.
