New York Crossings, Queens Midtown Tunnel, New York City

A series of polycarbonate chainmail curtains were stretched over the entrance to the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan. Set in motion by the wind, the undulating blue curtains created an overhead surface suggestive of water. The artwork was installed for 4 months as a prototype for a much larger installation. Commissioned by the MTA, Bridges and Tunnels and Governor Andrew Cuomo. 2017
